If you drive west from Bragg Creek townsite along Highway #66 you will find yourself on the stairway into the Rocky Mountains. As you proceed west you pass through grasslands, aspen parkland, subalpine forest, and finally view the majesty of the high alpine. The wildlife that you may see reflects the terrain's diversity from the prairie's Richardson's ground squirrel, to the grizzly bear and bighorn sheep of the mountains.
The McLean Creek Off-Highway Vehicle Zone has trails and campground facilities designed especially for those wishing to explore on trail motorbikes and 4 wheel drive vehicles.
A 30 minute drive from Calgary, the Elbow Valley offers a variety of pic-nic sites, campgrounds and trails.
